Plant Testing Kit — 6-Week Field Monitoring Program

Stay ahead of nutrient issues and optimize plant health throughout the growing season with our six-week plant tissue monitoring kit. Designed for one field with weekly sampling, this program gives you actionable insights to feed your crop precisely when it needs it.

What’s Included

For one field, over a six-week cycle, you’ll receive:

Component Quantity Purpose
Weekly plant analyses 6 tests (one per week) Follow your crops growth over time to catch fluctuations in nutrient levels
Prepaid shipping labels 6 UPS labels Ship each sample back to our lab without extra postage costs
Sample bags 6 sample bags Protect leaf/tissue samples and maintain sample integrity during transit
Shipping boxes 6 boxes Secure packaging for each week’s sample – keeps material safe and organized
Submittal sheets 6 sheets Used to record crop type, growth stage, field ID, and other important sample details

How to Take a Sample

To get accurate and useful data, follow this step-by-step sampling routine each week:

  1. Identify your sampling area
Pick a representative section of the field or a managed zone. Consistency matters: sample from similar spots each week.

  2. Determine the plant growth stage
Nutrient uptake changes as plants grow. Knowing the stage lets you take the correct tissue (leaf, stalk, etc.).

  3. Select the proper plant part
According to the growth stage (early leaf, mid-leaf, reproductive part, etc.), harvest the recommended portion of the plant. See the growth chart here on our website.

  4. Sample multiple plants
For a reliable average, collect tissue from 15-25 plants across your defined area. Place sample in the provided sample bag.

  5. Fill out the submittal sheet
Include your account number, name/business, field or sample ID, crop type, growth stage, date of sampling, and any notes (e.g. weather, irrigation or stress). A

  6. Package and ship
    Each week:
    • Place the sample bag and completed submittal sheet in the shipping box provided.
    • Use bubble wrap or cushioning if needed to prevent damage.
    • Attach the corresponding prepaid shipping label.
    • Drop off at your carrier or schedule pickup as instructions allow.

Why Weekly Monitoring Helps

  • Track nutrient trends so you can see when plants shift from sufficient → deficient or vice versa.

  • Optimize fertilizer timing & type, reducing waste and improving yield.

  • Early detection of nutrient problems lets you correct before visual symptoms or yield loss occur.

  • Over time, build a data-driven fertility program for future seasons.
