Description

Take the guess work out of feed testing with our prepaid feed testing kit! Simply choose your test package and we will send you a sample bag, submission form and return envelope.

Here are our recommended test packages by animal species and sample type:

Cattle, horses, sheep, goats, llamas and alpacas

We recommend NIRS analysis on forage and hay. This test provided protein, energy, RFV/RFQ and more forage characteristics that impact feeding decisions. If the forage or hay is a nitrate accumulating species such as oats or sudan grass add a nitrate analysis! If you also plan on digging into micronutrients add minerals to your NIRS test package.

For supplemental feed and mixed rations we recommend the F-10 analysis. This analysis will provide a comprehensive view of protein, energy, micronutrients and fat.

Poultry

If you are purchasing a feed testing kit for chickens or turkeys the F-11 proximate analysis is our recommended test package. Minerals are a common addition to ensure a complete and balanced diet. This test includes protein, crude fiber, fat, and ash as well as calculated MEn upon request.

Swine

If you are testing ingredients we recommend the F-12 for pig diet formulation. The F-12 test package includes protein, aNDF, fat, ash, and calculated GE, DE, ME upon request.  If you are checking a total diet we recommend the F-13 which includes ADF and starch beyond what the F-12 offers. Again, mineral nutrition is key to pork production and a common addition to these test packages.

Pets

AAFCO currently requires moisture, protein, crude fiber and fat to be listed on a pet food label. Our F-14 meets these minimal requirements. If calories is something that needs to be listed then our F-11 is the F-14 plus ash and contains all the parameters needed to perform this calculation. Minerals are also commonly tested on pet food and treats for nutritional guarantees.
