Concerned about your water quality?

Get answers you can trust with a complete home water test kit from Ward Laboratories.

Professional water quality testing for your peace of mind.

Whether your home is older or brand new, you may have questions about the quality of your drinking water. Some water problems are simply a nuisance, rather than a safety issue. But some water contaminants can pose a risk to human and animal health.

Your water quality isn’t something you can afford to be wrong about! Ward Laboratories has helped thousands of customers test their home’s water supply and now, we’re making it even easier with a simple testing kit!

Start with a water sample.

Your Household Complete Mineral Test Kit comes with a sampling bottle, packaging, prepaid mailing label and the analysis. Our household water analysis is designed to identify common compounds that may impact the taste, color or smell of your tap water.

We also offer additional testing options for potentially toxic contaminants, such as lead and arsenic.

Why does my water taste funny?

There are a number of causes for unpleasant flavors, odors or discoloration in your drinking water. These issues are typically the result of mineral imbalances, bacterial issues or a combination of both. Possible causes include:

  • Excessive calcium & magnesium content
    (commonly known as “hard water”)
  • Sulfur (may produce a distinctive “rotten egg” smell or taste)
  • Manganese or iron content (may leave brownish-black or rust colored stains in tubs or sinks)

When you submit your sample, please include any comments or observations you have about the taste, smell or appearance of your water using the form included in your kit.

What about possible health hazards, like lead or nitrates?

Our basic test package includes testing for nitrates, which can pose human health concerns in excessive amounts. Ward Laboratories can also test your sample for a variety of other contaminants such as lead, aluminum, and arsenic. Please check the appropriate box for any additional tests when you order your kit.
